3 Reasons Why You Are Not Making Money From Your Book

A lot of self- published authors struggle with selling their books. #1. The first reason why you may be struggling to sell your book is because of the book cover, and this can be a combination of things. Different fonts, colors and the design itself can cause a distraction and repel the readers you are trying to attract. Make sure that the font style is a maximum of 2 fonts, and if using a picture, make sure it’s high resolution. You want to keep your pictures extremely professional and clear. Should you wish to use a stock image, you’d also need to make sure it’s clear. 

#2. The second reason why you may be struggling to make sales is because of your title or your subtitle. It’s a make or break for the readers because this is what will connect the readers to you. Making sure your title and subtitle is very clear will enable you to attract the right audience right away.  So for instance, if you are a relationship coach or therapist and you write a book, your subtitle could be “5 ways to recover your marriage after infidelity”. That's a very clear, subtitle, and no one has to wonder or ask you what your book is about. So you want to make sure that your book title is not vague, put in general terms, and you want to be very specific and you want to have it phrased to where it is very short, sweet and to the point.

#3. The third reason causing you to struggle with making sales with your book is because you are not promoting it correctly. You should never leave your house without your book. If you are a new author, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. It’s okay to start a conversation about your book. People love original and creative works. Share your book with people at the beauty salon.
