What 2024 Taught Me and 5 Changes I’m Making in 2025

Uncategorized Jan 02, 2025

2024 was a year of growth, reflection, and hard lessons. It wasn’t perfect, but it brought clarity to what I want for my life and work. As I step into 2025, I’m committed to making meaningful changes to show up better for myself, my family, and the people I serve.

One of the biggest milestones in 2024 was turning 40. That birthday wasn’t just a celebration—it was a moment of realization. I became more aware of my mortality and the importance of making the most of the time I have with my loved ones. I thought about what I’d want my family and friends to remember about me and how I want to live the rest of my life.

This year also came with challenges. My family moved into a new home, which was a blessing but also a stressful process. My children started new schools, which brought its own set of adjustments. On top of that, I had to restructure my team to align with the direction I want my business to go. These transitions were tough, but they taught me the value of resilience and the importance of being intentional about how I spend my time and energy.

As I reflected on the past year, I identified five key changes I’m making in 2025 to ensure I’m prioritizing what truly matters:

1. Focusing More on Family

Family has always been my foundation, but 2024 reminded me how quickly time passes. I want to be more present with my loved ones—whether it’s attending their events, sharing everyday moments, or simply being there. This year, I’m intentionally carving out time for my family and creating memories that last.

2. Setting Boundaries

Saying “yes” to everything often leads to burnout and misaligned priorities. In 2025, I’m setting clear boundaries to protect my time and energy. If something doesn’t align with my goals or values, I won’t commit to it. This applies to work, social obligations, and even my personal life.

3. Simplifying My Business

Last year taught me the power of focus. Instead of trying to do it all, I’m streamlining my business to concentrate on the areas where I can make the most impact. Simplifying doesn’t mean doing less—it means doing what matters most and doing it well.

4. Prioritizing Health and Self-Care

In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to neglect self-care. But I’ve learned that if I’m not at my best, I can’t give my best to others. This year, I’m committing to regular exercise, better sleep, and taking mental health breaks when I need them.

5. Being Intentional with Time

Time is our most valuable resource, and I don’t want to waste it. In 2025, I’m planning meaningful celebrations, focusing on experiences that matter, and ensuring that every moment I spend aligns with my goals and values.

Looking Ahead

These changes are more than resolutions—they’re a roadmap for living and working with purpose. 2024 showed me what’s possible when I focus on what truly matters, and 2025 is my opportunity to build on that foundation.

If you’ve been reflecting on your own year and thinking about how to approach 2025, I encourage you to start small. Identify one or two areas in your life where you want to make a change and take intentional steps to make it happen.
